How to use the website
Care Leavers Connect is an online forum open to care leavers of all ages. Non care leavers are also welcome although some areas will be restricted to care leavers.
If you are a professional you are welcome but please do not use this website for recruiting care leavers to any projects.
If you have a media request please contact The Care Leavers Association directly.
In order to connect to others you will need to create a profile. We have a few required profile fields that we need you to complete but you can set your own privacy settings to decide how much information other people can see.
We will not share your details with any organisation outside The Care Leavers Association.
This is a user-led peer network run by care leavers for care leavers. The aim is to provide a safe and supportive space for care leavers to share experiences, knowledge, thoughts and ideas to support each other. There are some rules that we will ask you to agree to in order to keep the space safe. If you post something that breaks the rules you will be asked to remove it or we will remove it. Frequent breaches by any member could result in either a temporary or a permanent ban.
Any illegal or discriminatory posts will be removed.
Rules for using the website
- Be kind and courteous – We are all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural but kindness is required
- No hate speech or bullying – Make sure everybody feels safe. Bullying of any kind is not allowed, degrading comments about race, culture, religion, gender, sexuality of identity will not be tolerated.
- Respect everyone’s privacy – Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great but may also be sensitive and private. What is shared on this forum should stay in this forum.
